Over the years many a question has been asked regarding massage therapy. I have compiled a list of the ones most common. If you don't see your question below, feel free to contact us.
We currently have two discounts available.
1. Refer A Friend (RAF). This discount gives you $10 off your next service anytime someone says you recommended us. These ARE combinable, meaning you can earn multiples of $10 off a service.
2. Military. Any current or retired military member receives 15% off their service when they show their military ID
Note: you cannot combine the 2 different types of discounts together. If both apply to you at time of checkout, we will give you the option to choose which one you'd like to use.
You can either book online or contact us directly. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
When booking an appointment, you may be prompted for a debit/credit card in order to hold the appointment time. You will not be charged until after your service.
It's very rare we have a therapist just waiting around, so it's best to schedule ahead of time. You are more than welcome to stop-in though, you may get lucky!
Currently you can pay by cash, debit/credit card, checks, or gift cards.
Make checks payable to LB Serenity, LLC.
Gift cards are ONLY redeemable with Leyanna.
Yes! Gift cards can be purchased both online or in person.
Redeemable with Leyanna only. Other therapists are unable to accept LB Serenity gift cards.
No worries. We can look it up in our system and can even refund or re-issue if necessary.
YES!!!
Unfortunately, couples massages are unable to be booked online at this time.
However, we ARE able to accommodate couples massages upon request.
Of course! Your session time is your hands-on massage time. It does not include intake or undressing/re-dressing. We will always do our best to give you the full time of your service. If you are late, however, your session may be shorted in order for us to stay on time with our other clients.
If you are running late, please call/text us and let us know. Depending on your whereabouts and the rest of the day's schedule, you may either be shorted with your session time, or asked to reschedule.
If late and you receive a shorted service, you will still be charged for the full session.
We understand life happens, plans change, and unexpected things occur. We of course ask for as much notice as possible if you are unable to make your appointment. However, if you need to cancel, let us know and there will be no charge.
If you "no-call no-show", meaning you don't call us to cancel/reschedule, AND you don't show up for your appointment, we will give you a courtesy call or text. You will have until the end of the day, 8pm, to rebook your appointment for another day/time. If we do not hear from you regarding your missed appointment, a 50% charge of your service price will be billed to the card on file.
A non-refundable 50% deposit of your service price will be required for booking if you:
A.) same-day reschedule 3 consecutive times
B.) No-call no-show 3 consecutive times.
Since every massage is tailored to a persons individual need and goals, there is no one-explanation for all. You should expect a warm welcome and a smile to start things off. Then we will walk you to the massage room, where we will go over everything needed to know for why you came in. Based on your discussion, the therapist will then guide you through what to do and expect next.
Simply put: Whatever you are comfortable with. Some people get completely undressed, some leave their undergarments on, and some people even wear bathing suits. Whatever you choose is perfect! You will be covered up with a sheet and blanket the whole time, only uncovering the areas of the body as needed. Please note: skin-skin contact allows for a better and more relaxing glide as there is no material in the way stopping or slowing down the movement. So the less clothing between the therapist's hands and your muscles, the better! Your comfort is most important.
We ask that you avoid coming in if you are experiencing a fever, cold, nausea, diarrhea, covid-19 symptoms, or any other contagious disease. People who are in non-remission of Lymphoma or Malignant Melanoma, have active organ failure and/or on the organ transplant list should avoid massage all together.
If you have a blood clotting history/disorder, kidney or liver conditions, uncontrolled hypertension, and are less than 6 weeks post-op of a major surgery, should consult with their doctor before getting a massage. In some cases your therapist may ask for a note from your medical professional.
If you have a more localized, less severe issue going on such as: sunburn, poison ivy (in the healing process), open wounds, swelling, etc. massage is still acceptable. Your therapist will avoid the affected areas as to not cause any problems.
Major Surgery defined as: The opening of a body cavity that involves major trauma to the tissues, a high risk of infection, and an extended recovery period. Most major surgeries will leave a large scar. Some Examples of this are: Cesarean section, organ / joint replacement, full hysterectomy, heart surgeries, bariatric surgeries, including the gastric bypass.
If you are ever unsure if massage is okay, just ask either your doctor or therapist. They will lead you in the right direction.
In addition to the above mentioned reasons to avoid massage, there are a few more contraindications when it comes to receiving TMJ Massage:
Please consult with your doctor or massage therapist ahead of time if you are unsure if this is right for you
At LB Serenity, we use a nut oil free and paraben free, vegan massage cream. To find out more about it's ingredients and contents click Sacred Earth Botanical and it is the first one listed. Feel free to bring in your own oils or creams if you have specific ones you like.
Not all massage therapists use the same products, so be sure to let your therapist know of ANY allergies you have.
Everyone is different and as such comes in at different frequencies: from multiple times a week, all the way to only once a year. Once a month is what we recommend for good body maintenance. Of course, we know this is not manageable for everyone, so whatever time frame works best for you. Good rule of thumb: the more pain/stiffness you have going on, the more frequent your massages should be. As previously stated, the more regular you are with it, the better the health benefits are.
Attractions are natural, however, your therapist is a professional and will conduct business as usual. Here at LB Serenity, we take the health and safety of our therapists serious. We have a zero tolerance policy in place and it is enforced. This means there is no sexual activity tolerated. No sexual advances by any means, verbal or physical. No touching of your therapist or yourself, no sexual innuendos, no sexual jokes (not even about "happy endings"). If your therapist feels you have crossed boundaries from professional to personal/sexual and feels uncomfortable, she/he has the right to end your session immediately. You will still be required to pay in full, and depending on the circumstances you may not be allowed back on our premises. If you ever feel your therapist was in the wrong, please feel free to email us with your complaint.
